Patience with a Positive Attitude Can Be Powerful

When facing trials and tribulations, getting discouraged can be the first reaction. However, we have the ability to change the narrative of the situation by changing our mindsets. Today, I want to share a trick I used to change my mindset. Stress, grief, worry and everything else that could go wrong will in the world we live in today. Since I started this journey to know Christ, I chose to focus on what I call the 3 P's which are patience, positivity, and power. Let's dive in!

The first step is patience. Letting go and understanding that I am not in control is hard. So instead of focusing on what I can not control, I chose to believe that God has a plan. I may not know it or understand it but I trust and believe it, I just have to take the backseat and let it play out. When Moses was leading the Israelites to the Promise Land, he faced many trials. However, he had faith and patience with the Lord, and after 40 long years, his mission was accomplished. The Lord will move on his time and there is nothing I can do that will change that.

Key Verse: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” - Psalm 27:14

Song: Won't he do it by Koryn Hawthorne

The next step is positivity. Once I have the patience to let God take the wheel, then I have to change my mindset. Instead of focusing on all that is negative with the situation, I chose to be grateful for what the situation has given me, whether that be a chance to accomplish something better, a new door open, or a new opportunity, the possibilities are endless. When Satan was testing Job, he choose to focus on the fact that the Lord was there and even when things were hard he never leaves. In the end, Job got back all he had lost and then some. A positive mindset has the ability to change the narrative of every situation.

Key Verse: “so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ” - Philippians 1:10

Song: I Smile by Kirk Franklin:

The last step is recognizing and understanding power. Patients and positivity have power in itself however, the feeling of the word of the Lord in your life is extremely powerful. It can change, not only mindsets but lies. His plan will fulfill itself, and when it does, the possibilities are up to you. We have to trust and believe that the Lord is with us every step of the way. We may not see it in some days are hard to believe it. However, that’s the beauty and power the more you have the more you shine. The glow that you will feel inside and reflect out when graced with the spirit is undeniable. It is not only, the spirit of the Lord, but the spirit of faith, love, and positivity that can radiate a person who, without doubt, shows the world exactly what the Lord is capable of.

Key Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life - “John 3:16

Song: God in Me by Mary Mary
